Top manager of a Ukrainian enterprise notified of suspicion for supplying Russian nuclear power plants

One of the heads of a Ukrainian enterprise has been notified of suspicion in a case involving the supply of equipment to Russian nuclear power plants in circumvention of sanctions, reported on Monday by the National Police, writes UNN.

"Before February 24, 2022, the enterprise from Sumy directly cooperated with Russian companies. After the invasion, direct execution of contracts became impossible, but Russian customers still needed previously contracted Ukrainian equipment," the police reported.

According to the police, "to bypass the restrictions, another Ukrainian enterprise, which had previously been engaged in other types of activities, as well as two Turkish companies, were involved in the supplies."

"Through them, products worth almost UAH 5 million were delivered to the Russian Federation. The equipment was intended for the Leningrad, Rostov, Balakovo, and Kola nuclear power plants," the police statement reads.

As stated, police investigators "identified the officials of the enterprise who participated in negotiations with representatives of the Russian Federation and collected documentary evidence of economic activity in interaction with the aggressor state." During the investigative actions, law enforcement officers, as indicated, seized documents and computer equipment, and also seized the enterprise's real estate worth over UAH 13 million.

One of the heads of the enterprise has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - conducting economic activity in interaction with the aggressor state

The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is currently being decided. Other persons involved in the offense are also being identified.
