President Zelenskyy stated that the US and Russia are in negotiations for a complete ceasefire. Ukraine has agreed to this, and there is hope to achieve a result in the coming weeks or months.
America and Russia are talking about a complete ceasefire, because Ukraine has agreed to it. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a meeting with the heads of territorial communities of Chernihiv region, and added that it may be possible to put pressure on Russia to cease fire in the coming weeks or months, UNN reports.
Zelenskyy commented on the prospects for a ceasefire.
"A ceasefire is indeed the biggest way to end the war, but it is not the end of the war, because unfortunately we are dealing with Russians. A complete ceasefire gives Ukraine the opportunity and time to have the security guarantees that will ensure that it does not return to the hot stage of the war again," Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that a ceasefire opens the way to real diplomacy.
"That is, it (the ceasefire - ed.) opens the way to real diplomacy. This is the part of the war, that is, the ceasefire. It is desirable that it be an unconditional ceasefire, this is our mood and the mood of all Europeans, because when we set any conditions for each other, it is an endless process of negotiations on a ceasefire. The conditions should be later, after the ceasefire stage between the stage of ending the hot stage of the war and the transition to an agreement on the final end of the war," Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian side stated at meetings with the United States that Ukraine wants a quick end to the war as soon as possible.

Zelenskyy noted that it may be possible to put pressure on the Russian Federation to cease fire in the coming weeks or months.
"The question of putting pressure on the Russians to reach this... I think it is possible to do this as much as possible in the coming weeks, maybe months. It can be different, sometimes it happens in one moment, especially with this part of the end of the war - the hot phase. The hot phase is a complete ceasefire. We would very much like it (this part - ed.) to be unconditional. But then there will be time, for example, the first agreements may be a month, two months, still to be honest. But this is a chance for countries to start diplomatic options for various formats of dialogue," Zelenskyy said.

US President's Special Representative for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg said that the United States intends to achieve a complete ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, the war is already on the verge of a ceasefire, but both sides will have to make certain compromises.
