The occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has once again lost external power supply and switched to backup diesel generators. This is the tenth blackout since the beginning of 2026, which is an anti-record for the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

Zaporizhzhia NPP has once again lost external power supply and was forced to switch to backup power. Currently, the external power supply to the station has been restored. This is the tenth blackout since the beginning of 2026, Energoatom reported, as conveyed by UNN.
The occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP has once again lost external power supply and was forced to switch to power from backup diesel generators, which ensure the operation of critical safety systems. Currently, the external power supply to the station has been restored
It is noted that this is the tenth blackout since the beginning of 2026 – an alarming anti-record for the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which has been under Russian occupation for over four years.
Another blackout once again confirms: as long as the Zaporizhzhia NPP remains under Russian occupation, the risks to nuclear and radiation safety do not disappear. The only guarantee of the safe operation of the plant remains its de-occupation and return under the full control of Ukraine and the sole legitimate operator – JSC "NNEGC "Energoatom"
Let us recall
Russia has turned the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant into a military base. On the territory of the plant, the occupiers have placed military equipment, weapons depots, and drone control points.
