Kyiv • UNN
The peak of the Russian information operation Perun, aimed at discrediting Ukrainian and Western pro-Ukrainian politicians and justifying Russian aggression, will be on the day of the so-called presidential election.
Russian propagandists continue the active phase of the Perun information operation to discredit Ukrainian and Western pro-Ukrainian politicians and justify Russian aggression. The peak of the hostile operation will be the day of the so-called presidential elections in Russia. This was reported on Wednesday, March 13, by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, UNN reports.
Details
Reportedly, the hostile special operation is aimed at destabilizing the political situation in Ukraine and Western countries and "creating conditions for solving the problems" of the so-called "svoboda". According to the GUR, the Russians are conducting it in most regions of Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, units of the "federal service of the national guard troops" of the occupying country and spies of the "main intelligence directorate of the Russian Federation" are involved in the operation.
The Kremlin's propagandists instruct the Russian Guard spies to carry out such activities:
- to discredit Ukrainian and Western pro-Ukrainian politicians, accusing them of corruption and betrayal of Ukraine's interests;
- justification of russia's aggression and coverage of the situation around ukraine from a perspective favorable to the kremlin.
- Spreading disinformation in the media about the alleged "normalization of life" in the TOT with the direct involvement of the Russian leadership.
- the formation of the image of "Ukrainian Nazis" in the Russian and European media space, etc.
According to the Russian methodology, the Kremlin's intelligence services should talk about the events in Ukraine in the first half of 2024, using both well-known and newly invented fake narratives: about the alleged planning of a coup d'état in Kyiv, accusing Ukraine of starting hostilities in Donbas, massacring pro-Russian activists in Odesa, and so on.
The day of the so-called presidential elections in Russia is set to be the peak of propaganda activities. The occupiers plan to complete the "Perun" operation by June 30 this year
Earlier, the DIU stated that as part of this operation, the enemy plans to involve foreign journalists, media personalities and bloggers to justify aggression against Ukraine and cover the situation around Ukraine from positions favorable to the Kremlin.
