
"On the shield": bodies of 909 fallen soldiers returned to Ukraine

The bodies of 909 fallen Defenders have been returned to Ukraine from various front lines, including Kurakhiv, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, and others. The identification of the deceased will be carried out in the near future.
Ukraine has returned the bodies of 909 fallen Ukrainian defenders, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported on Friday in Telegram, UNN writes.
As a result of the repatriation measures, the bodies of 909 fallen Defenders were returned to Ukraine
As reported, among the returned Defenders "on the shield" are those who died from: Kurakhiv direction; Pokrovsk direction; Bakhmut direction; Vuhledar direction; Luhansk direction; Zaporizhzhia direction; morgues in the territory of the Russian Federation.
"We express our gratitude for the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross," the Coordination Headquarters said.
Special thanks were expressed to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who transport the repatriated fallen Heroes to designated state specialized institutions, organize the transfer of the dead to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical examination in the Ministry of Health.
"Investigators of law enforcement agencies, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will establish the identities of the dead as soon as possible," the Coordination Headquarters reported.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War has managed to rescue 4,306 Ukrainians from captivity during exchanges and another 469 have been returned outside of exchanges in three years of operation. And also repatriated more than 7 thousand bodies of Defenders.
