Because of this incident, the Eurovision organizers banned a contestant who had qualified for the final from participating in the main concert for the first time in its history.

The Dutch broadcaster Avrotros, which immediately sided with the singer, said that their position that Klein's disqualification was unnecessary and disproportionate was only confirmed. The company hopes that the European Broadcasting Union will now have a conversation with them.
