Sweden allocates $108 million as part of the PURL initiative

Sweden is allocating $108 million to the PURL initiative for the procurement of air defense systems and shells. The country's total contribution to the project has reached $543 million.

Sweden is allocating $108 million to support the American PURL initiative for Ukraine. This is the fourth time Sweden has provided assistance under this initiative, UNN reports with reference to the Swedish government.

The country's Defense Minister Pål Jonson noted: thanks to the initiative, Ukraine can quickly gain access to high-priority American defense equipment, including modern air defense systems and ammunition.

Since the full-scale Russian invasion, Sweden has provided Ukraine with military aid worth 128 billion kronor. Part of these funds was directed to support the funds and initiatives of other countries.
Taking into account the new contribution, Sweden's total support for PURL amounts to $543 million.
