State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting adds 11 more books to the list of anti-Ukrainian publications

In April, another 11 books were added to the List of book publications whose content is aimed at the liquidation of Ukraine's independence, propaganda of violence, incitement of inter-ethnic, racial, and religious enmity, commission of terrorist acts, and encroachment on human rights and freedoms. This was reported by the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, according to UNN.

Details

As noted, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting continues systematic work to protect the national information space. Within the framework of these activities, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, constant monitoring of the publishing sphere of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is carried out to identify facts of production and distribution of anti-Ukrainian publishing products.

Based on the monitoring results, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting forms the List of book publications with anti-Ukrainian content.

In April, 11 new titles of publications with anti-Ukrainian content were added to the specified list based on proposals from the SBU.

The vast majority of the added books are new editions released by Russian publishing houses, including those under sanctions, after the start of the full-scale invasion.

The identified publications are tools of hybrid aggression aimed at legitimizing the Russian invasion, glorifying war criminals, and denying Ukraine's historical subjectivity.

Among the new items in the list are:

  • a book published in Japanese by Takeyuki Tanaka, "Alley of Angels: Facts of 8 Years of Genocide of Ukrainians Committed by Ukrainians Themselves in 2014-2022" (propaganda oriented towards an international audience with elements of an information special operation, in which a foreign author is used to relay propaganda clichés about an "internal conflict" and "genocide" allegedly committed by Ukraine);
    • a book by Aleksey Kungurov, "Kievan Rus Never Existed" (a pseudo-historical work that denies Ukrainian identity and promotes revisionist narratives that essentially coincide with imperial and Kremlin propaganda about a "single people");
      • a work by Bohdan Marhanets, "Marhanets. The Path of PMC Wagner. SMO" (direct propaganda of illegal armed groups and terrorist methods of warfare. The author is a citizen of Ukraine who fought against his own country. The work glorifies and romanticizes a structure recognized in many countries around the world as criminal and terrorist).

        The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting reminds that the distribution of publications included in the list may contain signs of crimes for which liability is provided under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

        To date, the list already contains information on 668 titles of propaganda publications.
