"A North Korean special forces officer killed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kursk left behind a notebook. His notes reveal that the DPRK sent not ordinary soldiers to Russia, but elite fighters. And he is one of them," the SOF reported on social media.

In another translated entry, Private Gyong Hong-jong writes that he was "sent thousands of kilometers away to help Russian troops for some offense." "And he was sent on the orders of Kim Jong-un, the bloodthirsty North Korean dictator," the SOF said.

The SOF published a full translation of the third entry from the diary of a North Korean military officer "who for some reason decided that he was defending North Korea in the Kursk region.

"I grew up in the bosom of a gracious party, studied to my heart's content without worrying about anything in this world. There is more unknown love than recognized and accepted love. I didn't know how to respond to the happiness that surrounded me.

Since the defense of the fatherland is the sacred duty of a citizen, and the greatest duty is the defense of the fatherland, in which all my happiness lies, I put on the military uniform of the revolution to protect the supreme commander. I was blessed to be given the opportunity to be promoted as a master sergeant in my company. However, I betrayed my own party, which trusted me, and committed ungrateful acts against the Supreme Commander.

The sins I committed are unforgivable, but my homeland gave me a path to rebirth, to a new start in life.

Now I have no choice but to regain the trust I had. I will go to the front line in this operation, and I will unconditionally follow the orders of Supreme Commander Kim Jong-un, even if it costs me my life. I will show the world the invincible bravery and sacrifice of Kim Jong-un's Red Special Forces (Red Commanders).

When we win the war and return to our homeland, I will submit a petition to the party," Private Jong's diary, quoted by the SOF, said.
