Spain has won the Euro 2024 football championship, defeating England 2-1 in the final and becoming a record 4-time European champion.

Before the final, the Spaniards won all six matches of the tournament and scored a total of 13 goals, the best result in the championship.
The English had to win back in each of the three playoff matches and only in a penalty shootout beat Switzerland in the 1/4 finals.
The Spaniards took the lead in the 47th minute with Nico Williams scoring.
In the 73rd minute, the English were able to equalize. Cole Palmer scored with a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area.
Mikel Oyarzabal scored the winning goal in the 86th minute.
The Spanish national team became a four-time European champion (1964, 2008, 2012, 2024). This is a new record, and the Spaniards beat the Germans, who had three trophies. The Spanish team also won silver (1984) and bronze (2020).
