The impeached President of South Korea, Yun Seok-yol, ignored the interrogation on treason charges. His lawyers explained this by the incomplete formation of the defense team.
South Korean President Yun Seok-yol, who was removed from office by impeachment, did not appear for questioning by an investigative team on charges of treason. This was reported by Bloomberg, according to UNN.

It is noted that the politician was to be interrogated by a panel consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the police and the Anti-Corruption Investigation Service. The former president had to explain all the circumstances of his declaration of martial law, which the parliament assessed as an attempt to suppress political competition and eventually voted to dismiss the head of state.
Yoon Soi Yol's lawyers explained the ignoring of the interrogation by the fact that he has not yet completed the process of forming a defense team. In the near future, he is expected to make a statement regarding the investigation against him.

South Korea's Constitutional Court has begun impeachment hearings against President Yun Seok-yeol after he imposed martial law. The court has 180 days to decide, and the president is currently suspended from power.
