A partial eclipse could be seen in the western and some central regions of Ukraine.
Today, August 12, one of the rare total solar eclipses could be observed. In Ukraine, it could be seen only partially and only in a number of regions, writes UNN.

As UNN reported, on Wednesday, August 12, one of the year's main astronomical events — a total solar eclipse — will take place. In a narrow band passing through the Arctic and parts of Europe, the Moon will completely cover the Sun, briefly turning day into twilight.
Although the total phase was not visible in Ukraine, a partial eclipse could be seen in the western and some central regions.
Thus, Lviv residents who gathered on Lysa Hora saw the partial solar eclipse.
Residents of Frankivsk also gathered in the Vovchynets Mountains to see the eclipse.
The eclipse was also visible in Rivne.
Residents of Zakarpattia could see the greatest phase of the eclipse in Ukraine. In Uzhhorod, the Moon covered approximately 43% of the Sun, and the maximum phase occurred at 20:47.
