Russian troops shelled villages in the Novhorod-Siverska and Semenivska communities of Chernihiv region yesterday. Nineteen explosions from mortars and drone attacks were recorded, with no casualties among the local population, the Northern Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service reported on Saturday, UNN reports.

"The Russian army shelled five villages in two border communities of Chernihiv region during the day on August 23: Novhorod-Siverska and Semenivska. They fired from mortars and attacked with drones. Border guards recorded a total of 19 explosions," the post on Facebook reads and lists:
- Novhorod-Siverska community: in the direction of Mykhalchyna Sloboda village - eight attacks, allegedly with a 120-mm mortar and three attacks with FPV drones; in the direction of Buchky village - two attacks, allegedly with a 120-mm mortar.
- Semenivska community: in the direction of Leonivka village - three arrivals by FPV drones; in the direction of Tymonovychi village - two arrivals, probably from 120-mm mortars; in the direction of Zarichchia village - one arrival, probably from 120-mm mortars.
There is no information on deaths or injuries among the local population as a result of the shelling.
