On August 12, Russian troops fired 23 times at Sumy region, 63 explosions were recorded. The Khotyn, Yunakiv, Miropil, Bilopil, Krasnopil, Novoslobid, Putivl, and Seredyno-Bud communities were under fire. This was reported by the military administration, UNN reports.

- Russian troops shelled the territory of the Bilopil community with artillery (6 explosions) and mortars (4 explosions). There were also air strikes with bombs (2 explosions) and an FPV drone strike (1 explosion).
- Two mines were dropped on the territory of Putivl community.
- Russian troops attacked the Krasnopilska community with artillery (22 explosions) and multiple rocket launchers (3 explosions). There were also air strikes with drones (7 explosions).
- There were FPV drone strikes in Seredina-Buda community (2 explosions).
- Russian troops shelled the territories of Myropilska community (5 explosions), Yunakivska (1 explosion) and Khotynska (1 explosion) with guided aerial bombs.
