"We discussed in detail yesterday and today with the Commander-in-Chief, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, and also with the Security Service of Ukraine about the ceasefire now, for Easter. Ukraine has offered this repeatedly, and it would be good if it really worked out. Easter should be a time of security, a time of peace. It would be right for the ceasefire to continue. We have given this proposal to Russia, and if Russia again chooses war instead of peace, it will once again demonstrate to the world, and in particular to the United States, who really wants what," the President said.
Ukraine will act symmetrically. Tasks have been set for our army. If there are no Russian strikes, there will be no responses from us. We remember how it was in similar situations before, and we clearly know who we are dealing with. If there are no Russian missiles, no Russian drones, we will also observe silence in the sky. The task for the front is similar. But every Ukrainian unit has the right to respond. Our priority is real security. The signal regarding the possibility of extending the ceasefire has been conveyed to the Russians.
