Thus, to prevent further destruction of the building, temporary finishes are being installed to help maintain the optimal temperature inside the building. These actions are aimed at protecting the facades and interior from external influences while preparatory work for the restoration continues.
In addition, it is planned to manufacture new glass elements of the central stained-glass composition destroyed during the shelling, after the completion of the report on losses and damages and approval of the list of appropriate actions to repair the complex of buildings.
As noted by the Ministry of Culture, the restoration will be based on authentic drawings and entries in the object's restoration passport. In particular, the stained-glass windows will be made of modern materials that meet today's challenges and maximize the intentions of the authors of 1899-1909.
The ministry also emphasized that the restoration work carried out by the Soviet authorities in 1979-1981 to reconstruct the interior changed the purpose of the building, adapting it for concert activities. Accordingly, structural and decorative elements were replaced, and the glass of the central stained-glass composition was replaced with a mediocre version.
