Law enforcement officers have launched a criminal investigation into the possible improper performance of duties by police officers during the terrorist attack in Kyiv on April 18. This was announced by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, writes UNN.

Details

The case concerns proceedings under Part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official negligence that led to grave consequences.

The investigation will establish the legality of police actions during the detention of terrorists

– Kravchenko noted.

According to him, all actions of law enforcement officers at the moment of danger will be checked, including the episode with leaving a minor child in danger and the untimely cessation of the attacker's actions.

The group of prosecutors is headed by the prosecutor of the city of Kyiv, and the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation.

Kravchenko also clarified information about the deceased as a result of the attack.

According to him, it was not the mother of the injured boy who died in the hospital, but her sister.

A video surfaced showing two police officers simply fleeing the scene during a shooting in Kyiv on April 18. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, reacted to this.

Later, the patrol officers were suspended from duty for leaving the scene of the shooting on April 18.
