Portugal will allocate €220 million in aid to Ukraine this year and the same amount in 2025, the country's Prime Minister has announced.
Portuguese aid to Ukraine will amount to more than 220 million euros this year. The same amount will be allocated next year, in 2025. This was stated by Portuguese Prime Minister Luiz Montenegro before the NATO summit, writes JN, reports UNN.
This year alone, we estimate that we will be able to reach a support amount of more than 220 million euros, which will be repeated next year, all specified in what will be the final agreement that will now be established at this summit
Speaking to reporters, the Prime Minister of Portugal also reiterated his commitment made at the end of June to present at the summit Portugal's plan to achieve 2% of its GDP in security and defense investments by 2029.
According to him, as part of NATO allies' efforts to invest in security and defense, "a large financial contribution is also included in this international coalition of military, humanitarian, political and economic support for Ukraine.
