On the 11th day of the 2024 Olympics, Ukrainians competed in rowing, climbing, wrestling, and athletics. The Ukrainian team has 7 medals and ranks 18th in the medal standings.
On August 6, the eleventh competition day took place at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The Ukrainian team was represented by 11 athletes who competed in various disciplines, continuing to fight for a place on the podium, UNN reports .
Details
Canoeing: The kayak four consisting of Oleg Kukharyk, Dmytro Danylenko, Ivan Semykin and Igor Trunov qualified for the semifinals with a fifth place finish in the quarterfinals. The semifinal races will take place on August 8.
Climbing: Yevgeniya Kazbekova, competing in the all-around, took the 14th position in the semifinals with a score of 39.5 points. The next part of the competition will take place on August 8, where she will have a chance to reach the final.
Wrestling: Oksana Livach showed excellent technique in the women's 50 kg freestyle wrestling, winning in the 1/8 finals. Although she lost to Indian athlete Vinesh Phegot in the quarterfinals, Livach will continue to fight for the bronze medal.
Athletics: Artur Felfner failed to qualify for the finals in the javelin throw, finishing with a throw of 81.84 meters. Anna Ryzhykova also failed to qualify for the final in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Ukrainian team continues to compete at the Olympics, representing the country in various disciplines. At the moment, the team has seven medals: two gold, two silver and three bronze, which allows it to rank 18th in the overall medal standings.
