Norway announces 200 million kroner (21.2 million euros) for food security in Ukraine

Norway has announced the allocation of 200 million Norwegian kroner (about 21.2 million euros) for food security in Ukraine. This was reported by the Norwegian government, UNN reports.

Norway will continue to support the people of Ukraine. At the same time, we do not lose sight of other crises around the world. The Nansen Program is one example of how we are able to combine these efforts

- said Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.

Details

50 million (4.25 million euros) will go to the Grain from Ukraine program, which is administered by the World Food Program.

An additional 150 million Norwegian kroner (12.7 million euros) will be donated to the World Food Program in response to their emergency request for Ukraine. In addition to providing food aid near the front line, the funds will be used to demine agricultural land.

Finally, NOK 50 million (EUR 4.25 million) will be allocated to the World Bank's Ukraine Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reform Trust Fund (URTF).
