NBU: All cash hryvnia exchanged by IDPs in the EU has returned to Ukraine

The National Bank of Ukraine has returned 970,164,300 hryvnias that Ukrainians exchanged in ten European countries as a result of agreements reached after the Russian invasion.
The National Bank of Ukraine has received all the cash hryvnia exchanged by internally displaced Ukrainians in ten European countries during 2022. This was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine, according to UNN.
Details
In 2022, the NBU signed agreements with the central banks of ten European countries, namely Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Latvia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Sweden, and the Netherlands. They provided for the possibility of exchanging cash hryvnia for local currency for Ukrainian citizens who arrived in the EU due to the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Russia.
After the exchange operations were completed, the NBU redeemed the cash hryvnia received by the central banks, the total amount of which was UAH 970,164,300.
The main hub that accumulated cash hryvnia before returning to Ukraine was the National Bank of Poland.
As a reminder
Today, the National Bank of Ukraine adopted a resolution to ease currency restrictions for businesses and citizens.
