Three juveniles set fire to two vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Mykolaiv on the instructions of Russian special services. The 16-year-old suspect faces up to 8 years in prison, while the other two are 13 and 14 years old.

In Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers detained three teenagers who set fire to two vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for money. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv region, UNN reports.

On August 8 and 9, the special line 102 received reports of a fire in military Mitsubishi L 200 vehicles in Soliany and Ford Ranger in Pivdennyi. The police found that the cause of the fire was intentional arson. 

Law enforcement officers also found that the three minors acted on the instructions of Russian special services, communicating with their curators in one of the messengers. In exchange for money, they were offered to set fire to military vehicles and film it.

The oldest of the detainees is only 16 years old, his accomplices are 13 and 14. They filmed their actions for a report to their Russian clients. 

Investigators found out that, on the instructions of , the Russian supervisor, the minor first found the “right” car, took a picture of it, and when he received permission to destroy it, he set fire to the car, having previously doused it with gasoline. In this way, both pickups were destroyed.

During the authorized searches, the officers seized the defendants' cell phones and bank cards, which they used to communicate with the curator.

Investigators served the 16-year-old detainee with a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations”

He is currently under round-the-clock house arrest. He faces up to 8 years in prison. The issue of bringing to justice his two accomplices, aged 14 and 13, is being decided.
