MP Mykola Zadorozhnyi of the Servant of the People faction is suspected of demanding a 10% kickback from the head of a village council in Sumy region for not obstructing a tender.

NABU and SAP informed People's Deputy from the "Servant of the People" faction Mykola Zadorozhny about the suspicion. According to the law enforcement officers, the people's representative demanded an illegal benefit for not obstructing the repair works of infrastructure facilities in Sumy Oblast, UNN reports.

"The NABU and the SAPO served the MP of the IX convocation with a notice of suspicion of requesting and organizing the receipt of an illegal benefit to the head of a village council in Sumy region," the NABU said.

According to UNN sources , it is a people's deputy from the Servant of the People faction, Mykola Zadorozhnyi.

It is noted that in March 2024, the MP asked the head of a village council in Sumy region to provide an undue benefit for not interfering with a tender for the repair of a water supply system in the Okhtyrka district of Sumy region.

"His kickback, as NABU and SAPO found out, amounted to 10% of the total amount of the contract, and another 4% was to be transferred to law enforcement officers so that they would "turn a blind eye" to the violations. According to the investigation, the total amount is UAH 3.4 million," the NABU added.

It is noted that the case is classified under Part 4 of Art. 368 (receiving a bribe in a particularly large amount or by an official holding a particularly responsible position), Part 3 of Art. 27.
