Ministry of Education: 143 universities have already confirmed participation in the pilot project of state grants

The Ministry of Education announces the participation of 143 higher education institutions in a pilot project of state grants. Applicants for the contract will be able to receive from UAH 15 thousand per year to partially cover the cost of education.

The pilot project to introduce state grants involved 143 higher education institutions of both public and private ownership. This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, UNN reports .

Details

It is noted that as of August 15, 2024, 143 public and private institutions from different regions of Ukraine have joined the pilot project to introduce state grants, but the list of universities is constantly updated and will gradually increase.

The Ministry reminded that this year, applicants on a contract basis will be able to receive a state grant. A state grant is an opportunity for applicants who will receive their first higher education at the expense of individuals or legal entities to receive UAH 15 thousand or more per year to cover part of the cost of education. You can apply for a grant immediately after successful enrollment through the applicant's e-cabinet from September 5 to October 31, 2024.

In April, the Verkhovna Rada passed a bill that introduces a system of grants for higher education, allowing students to receive state funding for education and freely choose universities, which aims to improve the quality of education through competition between universities for applicants.
