MHP's agribusiness has a new direction - vegetable growing

A new direction has emerged in MHP's agribusiness.
MHP's agribusiness has a new direction - vegetable growing. The company started growing potatoes, beets, carrots, and onions on its fields. This year, 90 hectares were allocated for these crops at MHP-Agro-Region and MHP-Agro-S, UNN reports.
As MHP transformed into a culinary company, we decided to provide ourselves with vegetables of our own production. Therefore, we decided to vertically integrate the production of vegetables, one of the main ingredients on the consumer's plate. Last year, we laid out experimental plots of potatoes and beetroot, worked out the main agrotechnical processes and got the first harvests. This year, we are expanding the range of crops to four and increasing the area to commercial size (potatoes - 30 hectares, carrots - 19 hectares, beets - 5 hectares, onions - 36 hectares). We grow our products primarily to meet the internal demand of our company's processing plants
Last year, MHP conducted a study of soil, climate and infrastructure in 8 regions of Ukraine. We identified a separate growing location for each crop and variety. This year, we launched 2 production sites in Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Vinnytsia region, and in the village of Selyshche, Kyiv region.
The unit in Mohyliv-Podilskyi will specialize in growing early crops. The Kyiv region will focus on long-term storage varieties. Over time, the geography of cultivation will be expanded.
To ensure the full production cycle, from sowing to packaging of finished products, MHP purchased all the necessary set of imported machinery and equipment from Grimme, Spedo, Agricola, Forigo, VSS Amac, and others. Modern drip irrigation systems are being built on all the fields where vegetables are grown.
