A procurement conference has started in Kyiv, bringing together more than 150 participants from leading companies. Experts are discussing global trends, performance evaluation and the latest approaches in corporate and public procurement.

Today, MHP Procurement Conference 2024: Big Business About Procurement has started. This is one of the largest events of the year in this area this year. The event brought together more than 150 participants and procurement experts from MHP, Nova Poshta, Fozzy Group, Intek LLC, SE Medzakupili Ukrainy, Ukrposhta JSC, the NBU, and Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine.

The event will discuss global trends and the latest approaches to assessing the effectiveness of corporate procurement, best practices in investment and import procurement, the effectiveness of public procurement compared to the commercial sector, and other topics.

Zoya Chechulina, a procurement expert and consultant, lecturer at the Kyiv School of Economics, and leader of the procurement transformation at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), shared the global procurement trends in 2024.

Main points of the speech:

- Procurement trends forecasts from Procurement Leaders, GEP and CPO Strategy are formed around 3 main points - people and relationships with them, processes and technologies.

- It is not enough to have historical data on the company's purchases - you need to actively respond in real time.

- The basis for working with AI has 3 pillars. The first one is prudence: AI should be used where it will be useful. The second is validation: AI often compiles data, so it needs to be verified. The third is ethics: implement policies on the use of AI within your teams.

- It is important for specialists to have functional knowledge and expertise. At the same time, it is important to understand other areas and have good soft skills. This builds a more sustainable partnership and you understand the other side better.

- Look for cases not only in the world, but also look at what Ukrainian companies are doing.

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will be transferred to MHP's strategic partner, the MHP for Ukraine Charitable Foundation, which will use them to help Ukraine fight the enemy.
