Kyiv • UNN
More than 150 media outlets and associations demand the dismissal of Natalia Humeniuk, head of the communications department of the Southern Command of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, accusing her of obstructing media coverage of Russian war crimes and the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam. The Verkhovna Rada Committee plans to consider this issue at its next meeting.
More than 150 media outlets, publications and associations have appealed to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech to dismiss the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, Natalia Humeniuk. The committee plans to consider this issue at its next meeting and may also appeal to the General Staff. This was reported by the chairman of the committee Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, UNN reports.
More than 150 media professionals, publications, and associations have applied to the Committee on Freedom of Speech. Ukrainian and foreign journalists, photographers, cameramen and editors demand the dismissal of Natalia Humeniuk, head of communications at the OK South
He noted that, according to media professionals, their activities are hampered in this area, including insufficient coverage of the Russians' blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
"Because of this, the world media sought information about the destruction of the dam from sources of enemy propaganda. It is also necessary to provide more coverage of our soldiers holding the frontline in the south and the residents of these regions who suffer from Russian shelling every day. I fully support the idea that the safety of our military is the first priority. However, we are the ones who should provide an opportunity to cover Russian crimes and the exploits of our defenders. If we do not talk about the war, the enemy will tell the world about it. And the presentation of information will definitely not be in our favor," added Yurchyshyn.
According to the MP, the letter is planned to be considered at the next meeting of the committee, and the committee may also address the General Staff on this issue.

The journalists demand that the military leadership replace Natalia Gumenyuk "with a more competent person and prevent her from managing any communications.
Humeniuk herself denied the accusations, noting that the allegations about the failure to cover the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant tragedy are absolutely false.
