The United States has imposed sanctions on Belarusian companies, individuals and Lukashenka's plane as part of the sanctions regime for supporting Russia's war against Ukraine. The sanctions target defense companies, airlines, and individuals involved in the production of military resources for Russia.

The United States has imposed sanctions on 14 companies, 19 people from Belarus, and the plane of self-proclaimed President Alyaksandr Lukashenka for their involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine. This was reported on August 9 by the US Treasury Department, UNN reports.

"The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control is taking action against 19 individuals, 14 organizations, and one aircraft pursuant to an executive order related to Belarus. This action is aimed at individuals involved in supporting Russia's war against Ukraine through the production of military resources and the transfer of goods to Russia, evasion of sanctions by Belarusian defense structures, and the receipt of income by Belarusian oligarchs from the inner circle of Alexander Lukashenko," the statement reads.

It is noted that sanctions have been imposed on some Belarusian defense companies and their owners, including Laboratory of Additive Technologies LLC, Rukhservomotor LLC, and others, as well as against airlines: Rada Airlines, RubiStar, and Belkanto Airlines.

The sanctions were also imposed on EW-001PB, a Boeing 767-32K aircraft owned by the Belarusian government and used by Lukashenka for official visits and private travel.

On August 9, Canada imposed sanctions against ten individuals and six legal entities in Belarus. The list includes the son of the country's self-proclaimed president, Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Nikolai.
