More than 400 women remain in Russian captivity as prisoners of war, and Ukraine is working to organize an exchange for their return with the help of the UAE.
More than 400 women are known to remain in Russian captivity as prisoners of war. Currently Ukraine is working on organizing an exchange that will bring back Ukrainian women, said Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, reports UNN.

He also said that Ukraine had repeatedly raised the issue with the Russian side to organize a separate exchange of women returning from captivity. This was achieved in October 2022. Then, according to Lubinets, Ukraine returned 108 Ukrainian women.
"We are working to organize a second major exchange, where Ukrainian women will return. The UAE is helping us, we can publicly say this," the Ombudsman said.
He also said that new tools are being developed to protect the rights of prisoners of war while they remain in Russian captivity.
