The head of the Kyiv RMA reported on preparations for the heating season and the new school year.

Readiness for the new heating season in Kyiv region has already reached 80%. This was announced by Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv RMA, after a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UNN reports.

"The readiness for the new heating season in Kyiv region has already reached 80%. Together with the communities, we are working to provide our settlements with alternative energy sources, install cogeneration units, solar power plants, gas mini-boilers, and thermal modernization of buildings. We are doing everything to make the autumn and winter period as comfortable as possible and to provide people with the necessary services," said Kravchenko.

According to him, educational institutions are preparing for the new school year.

"The task is to switch the maximum number of kindergartens and schools from online to offline or mixed mode of operation. To do this, we continue to equip shelters in educational institutions. By the way, there are 1285 of them in Kyiv region. We purchase school buses. We are buying school buses so that children who cannot walk to schools can attend educational institutions," Kravchenko added.

In addition, the head of the Kyiv RMA spoke about the meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.

"The agenda includes challenges that every region and community faces today. We are talking about preparing for the new school year, ensuring energy resilience of communities and preparing for the heating season. We discussed measures and tools that will allow the whole country to pass this difficult test together. More than 1600 participants: the leadership of the state, the Prime Minister, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, representatives of the Government, heads of central executive bodies, MPs, heads of RMAs, heads of communities, etc. as well as 25 international representatives," summarized Kravchenko.
