MPs want to personally inspect the Poshtova Ploshcha metro station in Kyiv to check whether there is a risk of an accident, as civic activists claim, despite the fact that city officials deny any threat.

MPs who are members of the Verkhovna Rada's PIC for Kyiv want to see for themselves whether there is really no threat of an accident at the Poshtova Ploshcha metro station in Kyiv, as public activists have pointed out. This was announced by Vitaliy Bezgin, MP, chairman of the PIC to investigate the effectiveness of the work of public authorities in Kyiv, on his Facebook page, UNN reports.

"Poshtova Square. Is there a risk of a catastrophic situation? According to activists and experts, yes, according to the Kyiv city authorities, no. But we have no right to put Kyiv residents in danger, so we agreed with Volodymyr Bondarenko (Deputy Mayor - Secretary of the Kyiv City Council - ed.) to go down to the site together in the near future, together with representatives of the PIC, and see everything with our own eyes. We cannot allow even a potential catastrophe in the city," Bezgin wrote.

Addendum

Earlier, Kyiv Metro emphasizedthat no changes in the operation of Taras Shevchenko and Pochayna metro stations are currently planned.

Earlier, the media reported that two metro stations in Kyiv may be closed for repairs, including Pochayna and Taras Shevchenko on the Blue Line of the Kyiv Metro. In addition, the issue of closing the Poshtova Ploshcha station is being discussed at the expert level.

Recall

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko saysthat the reconstruction of the Kyiv metro tunnel between the Lybidska and Demiivska blue line stations is to be completed by the end of the summer.
