The Poznań District Court found 44-year-old Serhiy T., a citizen of Ukraine from Vinnytsia region, guilty of triple murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. This is reported by RMF FM, writes UNN.

According to the investigation, in November 2023, the man strangled his 29-year-old wife Yulia and two daughters - 4-year-old Daria and one-and-a-half-year-old Maria. The tragedy occurred in the town of Pushchikovo, near Poznań.
According to the verdict, the court found the evidence against Serhiy T. irrefutable. Medical experts noted that the accused is prone to lying and manipulation. At the stage of the investigation, the man described in detail how he killed his wife and children, but in court he suddenly changed his position and began to deny his guilt, claiming that someone else committed the murder.
Judge Daniel Jurkiewicz fully satisfied the demand of the prosecutors, who insisted on the highest measure of punishment. The verdict can still be appealed.
Serhiy T. acted consistently, he intended to kill his wife and children, he acted with particular cruelty. He did not hesitate, did not try to stop or call for help. He used all possible means to take the lives of his relatives.
The convict has lived in Poland since 2018 and worked as a chef. However, in 2023, he lost his job, had debts and abused alcohol and gambling. On the night of the murder, he entered the bedroom and strangled his sleeping wife. Hearing the noise, one of his daughters entered the room - he also killed her. Then he killed the younger daughter. The next day, the man tried to commit suicide, but did not dare. Five days later, he confessed to the crime to a security guard at a shopping center in Poznań.

At the time of the murder, Yulia's 11-year-old son from a previous marriage was in the house. Serhiy T. told the boy that his mother had contracted the coronavirus and was in the hospital. He did not allow the child to enter the room, claiming that it had been sprayed with a "disinfectant".
