Rukh right-back and national team debutant Oleksiy Sych said that he learned about the call-up to the main team while lying in bed with his wife and watching the series.
It was a surprise for me. I am very glad to be here now. I was just lying in bed with my wife, watching a TV show, and our CEO Igor Mikhailovich Dedyshyn called me. He said: “Congratulations.” I said: “With what?” He said: “You've been called up to the national team.
“I was very surprised and happy. So it was like a new stage for me. I didn't believe it right away, but when my coach called me and others began to congratulate me, I realized that it was real. Like Nazarenko, my phone didn't fall off, but my hands were shaking. It's the first time I've experienced this, new emotions, it's cool,” Sych said.
He said that left Lviv at 10 a.m. and arrived at a hotel in Turkey at one or two in the morning.
But the road is nothing. The main thing is that I am here. The team consists of most of the guys I already know from the Olympic team and U21. Of course, there are older guys I don't know at all, especially the legionnaires. It will be interesting to get to know them. Of those I know, Nazarenko and Brazhko have already written to me. First of all, I want the team to win these two matches. This is the main thing, and if possible, I want to help the national team on the field
Former Polissia winger Oleksandr Nazarenko said that when he learned about the call-up to the national team for the October matches of the League of Nations, his phone fell out of his hands.
I wanted to go home, I had already taken tickets to Dnipro. I arrived at the train station to wait for my train and got a call saying that Dnipro was canceled, you were going to the national team. I even dropped the phone from my hands. So I was very excited, but happy
Another debutant of the national team, Yegor Yarmolyuk, who was called up from English side Brentford, shared his impressions of the call in a commentary to the UAF.
Rebrov greeted me and told me not to get nervous, because everything would be fine. I liked the training session. Everyone is friendly, we worked hard, and we are going to the hotel with a good result. Every person who has made it to the national team will have jitters at the first training session, at least
Yarmolyuk also shared that it would be a success for him to make his debut for the national team and win 2 games.
As in October, Oleksandriya's Ivan Kalyuzhny was called up to the national team.
Then Kalyuzhny shared that a call-up to the national team is better than a weekend.
When I got the call from the national team, after they told me that I was being called up, I was excited. But it was my dream. I worked hard, tried to do everything in my power on the football field to get here. Thank you for making it happen. I am very happy about it. I didn't have to cancel anything, because my wife and I planned to either stay in Oleksandriya or go to Kyiv. But a call-up to the national team is better for me than a weekend. The guys from the Oleksandriya team and the coach were the first to know. They were the first to congratulate me
Ukraine's national football team has already arrived in Batumi, Georgia, where it will begin a pre-match training session. Tomorrow , on November 16, the Blue and Yellows will play a match against the Georgian national team in the fifth round of the Nations League.
