The Patriot's House was created in Boyarsky Lyceum in Cherkasy region to help veterans and educate young people in the spirit of national self-defense and patriotism with a grant from the MHP-Community Foundation and local support. The facility is equipped with sports equipment and resources for educational activities.

The project was implemented on the basis of the Boyarsky Lyceum educational institution (Lysianske community, Cherkasy region). The project implementers are the winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of social initiatives "Time to Act, Ukraine".

"On the basis of the educational institution, with grant funds from the MHP-Hromada Charitable Foundation in the amount of UAH 100 thousand, co-financing from the Lysianske community, participation of patrons and the public, a Patriot home was set up. The room was equipped with sports equipment and modern visual aids for conducting lessons on the subject of "Defense of Ukraine". Here, schoolchildren will have the opportunity to conduct national-patriotic education lessons, play sports and communicate with veterans," the statement said.

Patriotic education is a cross-cutting, multifaceted educational process aimed at fostering not only in young people, but also in all citizens an increase in social significance and respect for military service, motivation to acquire the necessary competencies in the field of security and defense, said Mykola Yefremtsev, a representative of the charitable foundation.

"Therefore, such a synergy of educational institutions, veterans and the public will definitely contribute to the integration and socialization of our defenders, as well as the development of new approaches to national and patriotic education of young people," he said.

"Time to Act, Ukraine!" is now in its fourth year. A record number of applications for participation in the contest was submitted this year - 837.

"This year, initiatives from charitable and civic organizations were actively submitted - 151 projects. Many proposals are aimed at developing public spaces, educational and medical projects, and infrastructure in small towns and villages. The experts of the competition committee also noted initiatives aimed at rehabilitating and preserving traditions and cultural heritage," adds Volodymyr Panchenko, head of national projects at the MHP-Hromada Charitable Foundation.


The budget of the competition is almost UAH 13 million. The grant competition covers 12 regions of Ukraine. Reference. "MHP-Gromada is a Ukrainian charitable foundation that started its operations in 2015. Its main mission is the comprehensive development of communities.

The geography of its activities includes 12 regions of Ukraine: more than 700 towns and villages.
