Harvest 2023: Ukraine harvested almost 78 million tons of grains and oilseeds

Ukrainian farmers harvested nearly 78 million tons of grains and oilseeds, including corn, wheat and barley. Vinnytsia, Poltava and Cherkasy regions are the leaders in grain harvesting.

As of December 8, Ukrainian farmers have harvested almost 78 million tons of new grain and oilseeds. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Details 

It is noted that the harvest of grain and legumes was carried out on an area of 10.433 million hectares with a yield of 54.7 c/ha. In total, more than 57.57 million tons of grain have been harvested.

As of December 8, Ukrainian farmers have harvested:

- 26.882 million tons of corn from 3.52 million hectares (yield - 76.4 c/ha),

- 22.478 million tons of wheat from 4.694 million hectares (yield - 47.9 c/ha),

- 5.909 million tons of barley from more than 1.504 million hectares (yield - 39.3 c/ha)

- 399.5 thousand tons of peas from 154.4 thousand hectares (yield - 25.9 c/ha).

- 180 thousand tons  of millet from 79.5 thousand hectares (yield - 22.6 c/ha).

Also, 207.4 thousand tons of buckwheat were harvested  from 139.7 thousand hectares (yield - 14.8 c/ha).

Supplement 

The leaders in grain harvest are farmers in Vinnytsia region, who harvested more than 5 million tons of grain. Poltava and Cherkasy regions are in the top three, with over 4 million tons of grain harvested in each region.

It is noted that as of December 8, Ukraine harvested 20.723 million tons of oilseeds from 8.215 million hectares. Sunflower has already harvested 11.94 mln tons of seeds from more than 5.014 mln hectares (yield - 23.8 c/ha). Soybeans were harvested in the amount of 4.778 mln tons from over 1.804 mln hectares (yield - 26.5 c/ha). Rapeseed was harvested at 4.005 million tons from 1.396 million hectares (yield - 28.7 c/ha).

In addition, as of December 8, Ukraine has already harvested more than 11.569 million tons of sugar beet from 244.6 thousand hectares with a yield of 473 c/ha.
