The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court found People's Deputy Anatoliy Gunko guilty of extorting and receiving a bribe of 85,000 US dollars and sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions. On March 25, 2025, the panel of judges of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court announced a guilty verdict to the People's Deputy of Ukraine, who was exposed for illegally receiving 85,000 US dollars for ensuring the provision of state-owned lands of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine to a private enterprise for rent.
The court found the People's Deputy guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 4 of Art. 190 and Part 4 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 4 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to be elected to state authorities and local self-government bodies and appointed to positions of public service for a term of 3 years, with confiscation of all property belonging to him by right of ownership.
The verdict of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court enters into legal force thirty days from the date of its announcement, if it is not appealed to the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the deputy, who was simultaneously the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Temporary Investigative Commission on investigating the facts of corruption at state-owned enterprises, institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, incited a representative of a private enterprise to provide illegal benefits to officials of the Academy and the head of the local state authority for ensuring the provision of land plots with a total area of 1,700 hectares to a private enterprise, which were in the permanent use of the state enterprise of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences, and further non-obstruction in economic activity, with the aim of taking possession of such funds.
The People's Deputy expressed a request to the entrepreneur to transfer a "reward" of 221,000 US dollars - at the rate of 130 US dollars per 1 hectare of state land.
The People's Deputy and two of his accomplices were caught red-handed immediately after receiving part of the agreed funds, namely 85,000 US dollars.
