“Gross violation of the UN Charter": the EU confirms the presence of DPRK troops in Russia

The European Intelligence Center detected thousands of North Korean troops on the territory of the Russian Federation. The EU called it a hostile act and warned of appropriate response measures.
The decision of the DPRK to send troops to Russia to participate in the war is a hostile act that will affect the security situation not only in Europe. This is stated in a statement by the EU High Representative , UNN reports.

It is noted that the European Intelligence Center (INTCEN) has confirmed the presence of troops of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Russian territory to support the illegal war of the Russian Federation.
The DPRK provides weapons and ammunition to Russia to support its war of aggression against Ukraine. The presence of several thousand troops cooperating with the Russian military is a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and many UN Security Council resolutions. This is a unilateral hostile act of the DPRK with serious consequences for European and global peace and security
The EU called on the DPRK to stop supporting Russia's military efforts.
The EU representative also warned that the DPRK's continued military support for Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine would be met with a corresponding response.
Currently the European Union is coordinating with international partners on this issue, including on the response.

The Financial Times, citing sources, reported that about 3,000 North Korean troops were secretly deployed to the Kursk region of Russia, and were stationed in barracks about 50 km from the Ukrainian border.
