Grenade attack by a deputy in a village council in Zakarpattia: SBU launches investigation, establishes bomber's motives

The SBU is investigating the incident when a deputy detonated grenades in a village council in Zakarpattia as a terrorist act, injuring 26 people; motives are being established.

SBU launches investigation into the explosion of combat grenades by a deputy in the premises of a village council in Zakarpattia. The motives of the bomber are being established. This was reported by the SBU to the journalist of UNN.

SBU investigators have launched an investigation into the explosion of live grenades in the building of the Keretsky village council in Zakarpattia region. Preliminary, the actions of the man who committed the explosion are classified under Article 258 (terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the SBU reported.

The SBU press service notes that an investigative team of the SBU, the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office is working at the scene.

Urgent measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the crime. In particular, eyewitnesses and witnesses of the incident are being identified, as well as the motives of the bomber, the SBU noted.

The National Police is additionally investigating the incident under Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In Zakarpattia, during a session, a deputy of the village council exploded grenades. Grenade explosion by a deputy in Zakarpattia injured 26 people.

As it became known to UNNthe bomber was a deputy from the "Servant of the People" Serhiy Batryn.
