The G7 will increase pressure on the Russian economy to limit its military capabilities. António Costa called this a step toward a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
The G7 countries have decided to increase pressure on the Russian economy to limit Moscow's ability to continue the war against Ukraine. This was stated by the President of the European Council, António Costa, before the start of the European Council meeting, reports UNN.
According to him, the corresponding decision was made during the G7 summit.
"That is why at the G7 summit we decided to increase pressure on Russia's war economy to reduce its capacity to continue the war against Ukraine," Costa said.
He also expressed conviction that international support for Ukraine creates new opportunities for achieving peace.
"We are now experiencing a new moment on the path to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine," emphasized the President of the European Council.
