Four biopics about the Beatles announced for 2028: the star cast has been revealed

Sony's long-awaited plans to create biopics about the Beatles are finally coming to fruition, The Hollywood Reporter reports, writes UNN.

Director Sam Mendes took to the stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to unveil the cast for the feature films, and said all four films will be released in theaters in April 2028.

The amazing plans to make four films - one for each member of the famous band - were first announced last year.

Mendes also brought the cast to the stage. The films star Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Each of the four films will focus on one of the members of the Fab Four.

"We're not just making one Beatles movie - we're making four," Mendes said. "Perhaps it's a chance to understand them a little deeper."

Mendes said Sony Film head Tom Rothman called the projects "the first binge-worthy theatrical experience." After taking the stage, all four actors read the lyrics to the band's song "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and then bowed in sync in the Beatles style.

The Beatles are the most popular musical group of all time, according to the RIAA, and Sony hopes to attract this dedicated fan base with a unique release strategy.

CinemaCon is an annual event for film distributors and Hollywood studios, which this year runs from March 31 to April 3. It is presented by Cinema United (formerly the National Association of Theater Owners).
