Former top law enforcement official of Mykolaiv region suspected of illicit enrichment of 22.6 million UAH

A former law enforcement officer of Mykolaiv region is suspected of illicit enrichment amounting to 22.6 million UAH. He registered elite real estate in Kyiv in the name of his mother-in-law.

The former head of the Main Directorate of one of the law enforcement agencies in the Mykolaiv region has been notified of suspicion of acquiring illicit assets. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
According to the investigation, during 2020-2021, the suspect acquired assets whose value exceeds his legal income for this period by 22.6 million UAH. These include real estate properties in the "Novopecherski Lypky" residential complex in Kyiv: a non-residential premise with an area of 138 sq. m, two apartments with a total area of 200 sq. m, and three parking spaces,
He is charged with a criminal offense under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illicit enrichment).
According to the investigation's version, the suspect's mother-in-law became the formal owner of this property.
He has currently been served with a motion to select a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation.
