The former head of the Southern Border Guard Service, Serhiy Mul, was found not guilty of false declaration, but the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will appeal the verdict in the Court of Appeal. SAPO prosecutors reported this in their telegram channel, UNN reports.

The prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office are preparing an appeal against the HACC verdict of 15.04.2024, by which the former head of one of the regional departments of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine was found not guilty of intentionally entering knowingly false information in the declaration for 2021, which differed from reliable data by more than UAH 1.5 million, due to the lack of evidence of a criminal offense in his actions. Prosecutors do not agree with this court decision and will defend their position in the court of appeal.

- the SAPO said.

Optional

According to the investigation, in the 2021 declaration, Mula indicated an unfinished construction project that was not put into operation but was fully habitable (it was a manor house with outbuildings) and a land plot with buildings, without reflecting the value of this property.

The actions of a senior officer of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine were qualified on the grounds of criminal offenses under Part 1 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (both in the version in force before 07/21/2021 and after that date).
