A "red" level of danger has been declared throughout Croatia, as the country is experiencing a heat wave. This is reported by Euronews, UNN reports.

On Friday, the temperature in the northeastern region of Slavonia and the southern region of Dalmatia reached +37°. At the same time, the water temperature in some parts of the country reached +28°.

The "red" level of danger was announced on Friday by the National Hydrometeorological Institute of Croatia.

On Thursday, the Italian authorities also declared a "red" level of danger due to the heat in seven cities, mainly in the central part of the country, as well as in Rome and Trieste.

Rome's municipal authorities have developed a digital app to help people find public drinking fountains as temperatures in the capital reached +38° on Thursday.

According to experts, climate change caused by human activity has brought more unpredictable storms and heat waves.
