According to him, even after the end of the war against Ukraine, Russia will not be deprived of the opportunity to carry out new military actions.
"It can be predicted that the war in Ukraine will not end in a situation where Russia is rendered incapable of acting against us,"
Merilo emphasized that the Russian economy has already been shifted to a war footing, and the country possesses significant resources and an army.
"2027 is the moment when Russia could restore its combat capability, and if it senses an opportunity to use force elsewhere, it will do so,"
He also noted that Russia continues to conduct reconnaissance and carry out destabilizing actions while simultaneously preparing for possible new conflicts.
According to his assessment, countries in the region need to take Ukraine's experience into account and prepare for potential threats.
