Finnish police have seized the tanker Eagle S for investigation into cable damage

The Finnish police have confiscated the tanker Eagle S for an investigation into the damage to the submarine power cable between Finland and Estonia. The vessel is being escorted to the port of Kilpilahti for a technical investigation.
The tanker Eagle S, suspected of damaging the submarine electric cable between Finland and Estonia, is now being moved to the port of Kilpilahti in the city of Porvoo, accompanied by Finnish authorities, reports UNN referring to yle.

It is being moved because the Central Criminal Police have confiscated the tanker Eagle S. The transportation process is being managed by the Helsinki Police Department with the support of the Border Guard.
A technical investigation will be carried out on the vessel to determine whether the tanker is the cause of the damage to the electric cable.
The tug Ukko approached the tanker Eagle S on Saturday morning. The vessel is being moved with the help of two pilot boats and accompanying tugs.
Reminder
Damage to three additional communication cables between Finland and Estonia, in addition to the previously damaged Estlink 2, has been discovered. The Finnish company Fingrid is considering the possibility of sabotage, and the police are checking the surrounding vessels.
