Ukraine invites international partners to join the Drone Deal Initiative, which involves not only the purchase of drones but also joint production and the development of defense cooperation. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the NATO Defense Industries Forum, reports UNN.
According to him, a number of states and partners have already joined the project.
"The Drone Deal Initiative is not just about purchasing drones. It is also about joint production, rapid access to critical infrastructure protection assets, air defense systems, and broad security cooperation," Zelenskyy noted.
Reminder
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov explained how the new mechanism will work:
🔹countries — partners of the Drone Deal, with which Ukraine has relevant intergovernmental agreements, will have the opportunity to purchase Ukrainian weapons, technologies, and work directly with Ukrainian manufacturers;
🔹 a transparent procedure for reviewing export applications from manufacturers is being introduced. It will be reviewed within a clearly defined period — up to 30 days. The mechanism applies to the transfer of weapons and defense technologies worth from 15 million UAH;
🔹 the list of partner states will be formed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the list of critical goods that cannot be transferred — by the Ministry of Defense together with other authorized bodies;
🔹 Ukrainian technologies remain under state protection. Transfer will take place without alienation of intellectual property rights, and re-export or transfer to third parties is possible only with the written consent of Ukraine. If products manufactured using Ukrainian technologies are exported to third countries, 20% of their value will go to the state budget.
