DPRK produced and handed over new ballistic missiles to Russia in a matter of months
Kyiv • UNN
Experts found the remains of four North Korean missiles manufactured in 2024 in Ukraine. This is the first evidence of the rapid production and transfer of ballistic missiles from the DPRK to Russia.
The researchers documented the remains of four missiles, believed to have originated in North Korea, that were found in July and August in Ukraine.

Details
North Korea has demonstrated that it can produce ballistic missiles and deliver them to Russia for use against Ukraine in a matter of months. This was stated to the UN Security Council the day before by Jonah Leff, an independent arms expert and executive director of Conflict Armament Research.
According to him, the researchers examined the remains of four missiles from North Korea found in Ukraine in July and August, including one that had markings indicating that it was made in 2024.
This is the first public proof that missiles were made in North Korea and then used in Ukraine within months, not years

The expert emphasized that this indicates a “very short” period between the production of the relevant ballistic missiles and their transfer and subsequent use by the Russian Armed Forces against Ukraine.
Previously
In the summer of 2024, Leff briefed the Security Council, telling members that the organization he heads, Conflict Armament Research, had “irrefutably” determined that ballistic missile remnants found in Ukraine earlier this year came from a missile manufactured in North Korea.
