Deal with Saudi Arabia will "collapse" if the kingdom does not normalize relations with Israel - White House

The White House stated on Thursday that the already signed agreement on the peaceful use of nuclear weapons with Saudi Arabia will "collapse" if the kingdom does not normalize diplomatic relations with Israel, reports UNN citing CNN.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt pointed to repeated statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who called on other countries, including Saudi Arabia, to join the Abraham Accords.

However, she did not provide a full explanation of why Trump's new condition regarding the nuclear deal was not clearly articulated before the agreement was signed on Wednesday.

"The president is always the last to make a decision, as you know," she said. "He has repeatedly mentioned this."

She stated that Trump will continue negotiations with Saudi leaders on normalizing relations, but the president has not spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has directly stated that he will not normalize relations with Israel without a clear path to the establishment of a Palestinian state, since the time of the Palestinian people.
