Ukrainian Daria Bilodid won gold in the 57 kg weight category at the 2024 European Judo Championships in Zagreb, defeating Kaja Kaiser from Slovenia in the final.
Ukrainian Daria Bilodid won gold at the European Judo Championships in Zagreb in 2014, UNN reports citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
"We are starting the 2024 European Judo Championships in Zagreb with a gold medal! Daria Bilodid won it for Ukraine in the weight category up to 57 kg. In the final, our bronze medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games defeated Slovenian Kaja Kaiser at Golden Score," the statement reads.
The agency noted that this is 23-year-old Daria Bilodid's third gold medal at the adult continental championships and her first in the weight class of 57 kg.
The European Championship will last until April 27.
