Activists of the Futuro Vegetal group doused Lionel Messi's house in Ibiza with paint to protest against the rich. The action was aimed at pointing out the responsibility of the wealthy for the climate crisis.

On the Spanish island of Ibiza, climate activists threw paint on a villa belonging to world football star Lionel Messi. According to Spiegel , the action was intended to point out "the responsibility of the rich for the climate crisis," UNN reports .

Climate activists broke into Lionel Messi's house on the island of Ibiza. While one of the vandals continued to draw stripes, his friend showed the camera recording the event a banner with an inscription in English:

Help the planet - eat the rich - eliminate the police

Then the activists poured red and black paint on the white facade of the building.

The Spanish group Futuro Vegetal explained that the campaign was intended to point out the "responsibility of the rich for the climate crisis" by calling the villa "illegal construction.

Messi has not yet publicly responded to the attack.
